I know this is not the newest version.

It's just first site I picked to ask you one thing.

Since XPS use DirectX... I've been using Nvidia Inspector to get AO for some games that doesn't have it and got nice results there... I was wondering if XPS can handle AO too that way (I don't have XNA Framework, that's why I can't check :P)?

I do not understand the question.

"Nvidea Inspector" is a tool to show info about your nVidia graphics card and overclocking options.
What you means with "Nvidea Inspector to get AO for games" ??? .... confused ...

XPS use AO maps ... called "lightmap" for some Render Groups (RG) xnalara.home-forum.com/t225-le…

To generate AO maps, I use xNormal  xnalara.home-forum.com/t301-xn… ... or Blender

Sure, we can implement a new feature in XPS ... to calculate ambient occlusion maps ... simple by casting rays out from the surface of a 3D model. If a ray hits another surface before dying out, then a grayscale value is recorded that represents how far that ray traveled before being occluded. what-when-how.com/zbrush-chara…

... but WHY should we do it?  There are already apps like xNormal to make this ;) www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/3d_st…

Biggest power of Nvidia Inspector is that it can modify how driver shows the graphics. In some games it can give you advantage over others.

But anyway... I installed XNA framework just to check if this driver forced graphic effects works aaaand... They do. I've got dynamic AO here, but to make it visible I had to downscale Lara_shorts (original model from TRU) from 1.0 to 0.1.
Seems like XPS have quite large scale or just AO is freaking out.

Through this program I can force FXAA or even all those newest Nvidia's anti-aliasing options like TXAA (which renders pretty useless, since XPS is for static images or animations made of static images ;P at least from what I remember). I can limit number of fps, adjust texture quality rendering and such. Basicly all those things available from Nvidia Control Panel + those little things like forced AO (there're different kinds of AO, since there are basicly presets from specific games... I know that CS:Source use SAAO which is fastest, while UT3 has HBAO but for some reason it often gives strange results when something half transparent is behind something solid... Also can adjust quality of it and when set in performance it's easier to notice imo).

Ok, I just downloaded new models to XNALara (the newest version) but when I open the add models, the newest models won't show at all? The models are for XNALara.

I need help, can you add a ctrl+y function to make it Redo in Posing Studio 10? it has Undo ctro+z (undo) but not ctrl+y, it's very problematic.

Thanks, I'm new to computers so I don't know how to update :iconxnalaraplz: if you add Ctrl+y (redo)

Do I update it (if yes, how?), do I redownload the Posing Studio 10? Does a new version of Posing Studio 10 get made?

Hey hey! Is there a shortkey somewhere so I can make the posing screen real fullscreen to get hide of the bar at the top that says "XNA Posing Studio" so I can make use of my full monitor display? Thanks. Love your work :)

All shortkeys are mentioned in the menu item "Help-->3D window controls"
So the answer is: You cannot make this at
this time.
Thanks for the suggestion. Added to the TODO list.

I want to convert a .mesh file to another format file that i can use in another 3d program.I heard in here that the best way to do that is using this XPS since i get my .mesh file in deviantArt.and they say that its better using XPS...I've installed XNA framework 3.0 too.but when I run XPA, and want to import my .mesh file, I dont get any idea where I can import that..I'm sorry if my question sounds a little bit stupid, but i'm newbie in this "export-mesh-file-thing"..So can please help me??I'm really frustated in this few days..:D

Do I just need this version of XPS or is it an add on for the original XPS or something?

You just need this version. It is a full version with 2.47 MB.

However on the other hand, you WILL NEED 'Microsoft .NET Framework' and 'Microsoft XNA Framework 3.0' to run it.

Depending on your operating system .. read more here [link] inside the .: INDEX :. section

can X,Y,Z model scale be added in the next version? I think it will be a good addition to modders.

Thanks for your suggestion. This feature exists since

version 7.2.5 -- release 079
Using the Scale textbox, scale of models can now be defined for axes X, Y and Z independently:
If only one scale value is provided, it is applied to all 3 axes:
Scale: 1.5
If three values are provided (separated by a space or a semicolon), they are applied to the corresponding axes:
Scale: -1 1 1
Scale: -1.0; 1.0; 1.0
This can be particularly useful for flipping a model along a particular axis using a negative scale (as in the example above).

Thank you for great job.
But I have a question, when I convert model to .obj, and import to Softimage and Blender, the texture isn't loaded. The texture only work in XPS, Anything I did wrong or it's normal?

Use Modify-->Export scene as .obj
not the File menu.

I did it form Modify, Here's my progress:
1. Open XPS
2. Modify -> Load Generic Item -> Choose a .mesh file
3. Modify -> Export scene as .obj
4. Open Softimage
5. Import -> Obj file -> Choose the file from step3
6. Model showed, but without material data.

no problem.
BTW:
Another thing that might help is the GuruWare gwObjImp, which is an alternative importer for obj-files that sometimes handles the whole import (including UVs) better than the native obj importer.
Read all about here [link] or download it directly from here www.guruware.at/main/store/gwObjImp_v0.94b-xsi-guruware.zip . To install, copy the gwObjImp.dll from the 32bit or the 64bit folder in the zip-file into your (User)/Application/Plugin folder, followed by a (re)start of Softimage.

When using this plugin on newer versions of Softimage (it was written for XSI 6!) I sometimes get an "invalid argument" error, the imported mesh and UVs seem okay though.

Thanks again for your additional information :) I will try GuruWare gwObjImp later.
And you're so kind! It's good to discuss with you. <3

To import an OBJ file into Softimage

1. Choose File > Import > Obj File from the main menu.
2. Set the options in the Wavefront Import Dialog Box. [link]
3. Use the option
3a Import Material
3b Import UV
4. Enter a path and file name for the OBJ file you want to import. Its name appears in the Filename text box. You can click the Browse (…) button to select a specific location and filename from a browser.
5. When you have finished, click OK.

The imported objects are added under the current scene root.
